Come for the whole day or pick the sessions you are most interested in or able to attend.We will be discussing the following topics: 10:00 am - 12:00 pm - Why do we need a Mass Party of Labor?Tom Trottier, an experienced trade union activist from New York will introduce the discussion on why workers in the U.S. need a party of their own, and what we can do to help bring this about. 1:00 pm - 2:30 pm - Marxism and the StateJosh Lucker of the Minneapolis WIL will introduce the discussion on this classic and often controversial topic. Come learn what the state is and how Marxists relate to it in the struggle for the revolutionary transformation of society. 3:00 pm - 4:30 pm - 20 Years Since the Collapse of the Berlin Wall: An Introduction to Ted Grant's Writings on StalinismJohn Peterson, National Secretary of the WIL will present the new book from Wellred USA: Ted Grant Selected Works Volume 1 (Stalinism and the Class Nature of the Soviet Union). What did the fall of the Berlin Wall mean? Why did it happen? What were Ted Grant's contributions to Marxist theory, in particular in deepening our understanding of Stalinism?
