Over €10,000 collected for Trotsky House Museum! The appeal we launched to help the Leon Trotsky House Museum in Mexico has concluded with a great result. A total of £9,340.95 (€10,300) has been raised since the appeal began, during the commemoration of the 80th anniversary of Trotsky’s assassination by a Stalinist agent. More than 200 people from different countries contributed, from the US to Argentina, from Sweden to Pakistan.

Trotsky Museum appeal continues! Over €10,000 has been raised in the appeal to help the Trotsky Museum in Mexico, which was launched on 20 August during the commemoration of the 80th anniversary of the assassination of Leon Trotsky.
Great success for the Trotsky Museum Appeal Since we launched our appeal to help save the Trotsky Museum last Thursday, we have raised no less than €7,700. This is a great achievement but we would like your help to raise even more.
Support the Trotsky House Museum! Since March this year, nearly five months ago, the Leon Trotsky House Museum in Mexico has been closed to the public as a result of the measures taken to limit the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic. We have received an appeal from Trotsky's grandson Esteban Volkov to support the museum in these difficult conditions. Please click here to donate generously! Pakistan: international solidarity for Comrade Amin’s release International solidarity is flooding in as people all around the world are demanding the release of Mohammad Amin. Comrade Amin was abducted by the Pakistan Rangers on 14 July 2020 in Karachi and his whereabouts are still unknown. Pakistan: Release Comrade Amin, abducted by Rangers in Karachi Comrade Muhammad Amin, an active member of the Progressive Youth Alliance in Karachi, was abducted from his home in the Shah Faisal Colony in Karachi by the Rangers (a paramilitary force in Pakistan) on 14 July. To this day no one knows his whereabouts, not even the police and high court in Pakistan.
Pakistan: Comrade Amin from Karachi victim of wave of abductions to crush dissent As the economic crisis in Pakistan heads for a catastrophe, with millions being thrown into extreme poverty and death due to hunger and deprivation, state repression is also reaching unprecedented levels. Every avenue for expressing dissent and anger is being strangled. Progressive Youth Alliance activist, Comrade Amin, is one of many people abducted by the brutal state. Release Amin!
Mexico: solidarity appeal with the workers’ movement in Matamoros-Tamaulipas and for the release of Susana Prieto Terrazas Susana Prieto is a labour lawyer and a prominent activist in the workers’ movement of the border factories (maquiladoras) in the municipalities of Matamoros (Tamaulipas) and Ciudad Juárez (Chihuahua), both of which are located in northern Mexico, on the US border. She has been arrested following orders of the Tamaulipas state government.

Italian workers issue an appeal to the workers of the world The comrades of the IMT in Italy, Sinistra Classe Rivoluzione launched a campaign, “Workers are not cannon fodder” for the closure of all non-essential production, with the workers to be sent home on full pay, and where work is deemed essential for full protective equipment to be provided and safety procedures strictly adhered to. Their campaign appeal saw over 200 trade union shop stewards and activists sign up immediately, and more workers are signing every day. Add your name to show your support!

Nazi students threaten Brazilian teacher: campaign in defence of the life of Prof. Mara In October 2019, the Brazilian section of the IMT organised a public campaign “In Defence of the life of Professor Mara”, demanding the compulsory transfer from the State Technical School of Franco da Rocha (Metropolitan Region of São Paulo) of neo-Nazi students who threatened a teacher's life, plotting her murder through a WhatsApp group.
Venezuela: two workers arrested for fighting corrupt PDVSA mafia – no more repression against revolutionary fighters! On Friday 28 February, comrades Alfredo Chirinos, PDVSA’s Special Operations Manager, and his wife, Aryenis Torrealba, PDVSA’s Crude Operations Manager, were arrested in the company’s administrative headquarters in Caracas by the intelligence corps of the state. Up until now, their whereabouts remain unknown. At the time of writing this article, they haven’t been allowed to communicate with a family member, nor to see a lawyer.
Venezuela: struggle of the Fogade union delegates Members of the Sutrabfogade union (including the general secretary) are facing dismissal from the state company Fogade, following a slew of false allegations from the management. These attacks on unionists are evidence of the anti-labour drift of the Maduro government. The IMT sends its solidarity to the comrades affected by the case.
