International solidarity with the BJP – Rally at the embassy of El Salvador in Mexico Share Tweet A campaign has been launched in Mexico in solidarity with the People’s Youth Bloc against the repression and slanders it faces at the hands of the ruling class in El Slavador. On Friday June 6, Mexican workers and youth started a campaign in solidarity with the Peoples’ Youth Bloc against the repression and slanders it has suffered at the hands of the right-wing government of Antonio Saca in El Salvador. Rank and file members of the PRD, trade unionists from the Electrician’s Union SME, student activists from the CLEP-CEDEP and others gathered outside the embassy of El Salvador in Mexico to express their solidarity with their class brothers and sisters of El Salvador. They warned that if the government of El Salvador continues with its campaign of attacks and slanders against the BJP, the campaign will be stepped up. Not surprisingly the ambassador refused to come out to receive a protest document that the participants wanted to hand in. Finally, two people from the administrative staff of the embassy, Claudia Teruel and Omar Paredes, received the document and insisted that the ambassador was not present. The rally ended with the singing of the Internationale. Please sign the protest letter which will be sent to the authorities of El Salvador: www.elmilitante.org/index.php?option=com_facileforms&Itemid=104 See also: El Salvador: the Mario Belloso case and the weakness of the Antonio Saca government (July 16, 2007) Manifesto of the Marxist Tendency Militante against repression in El Salvador (July 16, 2007) Urgent action needed to defend BPJ youth in El Salvador (February 14, 2007) New attack in El Salvador: Against repression sign here!
