History of British Trotskyism Revolutionary Communist International Our history Share TweetThis book by Ted Grant is a unique contribution to the history of British Trotskyism. It begins with the debate on Trotskyism in the British Communist Party in 1924 and ends with the break-up of the Revolutionary Communist Party in 1949 and the beginning of more than thirty years of work within the Labour Party. Ted Grant was the founder and political leader of the “Militant Tendency”, which haunted the Labour leadership, and was eventually expelled along with the Militant editorial board in 1983. A postscript by Rob Sewell, who was the national organiser for the Militant throughout the 1980s, brings this unique history up to date.History of British TrotskyismBy Ted GrantWith an introduction and postscript by Rob Sewell Click here to buy it online from Wellred BooksAcknowledgmentsIntroductionPart one: Fighting Against the Stream - The Origins and Early YearsSection 1Section 2Section 3Part two: Trotskyism of a New TypeSection 1Section 2Section 3Section 4Part three: Marking Our Mark - The Revolutionary Communist PartySection 1Section 2Section 3Section 4Part four: In Defence of Trotskyism - Our Struggle with the InternationalSection 1Section 2Section 3Section 4Part five: End of an Era - The Last Years of the Revolutionary Communist PartySection 1Section 2PostscriptSection 1Section 2Section 3Section 4Section 5Section 6Section 7Appendix I: WIL Statement on the Expulsion of Gerry Healy (1943)Appendix II: War Cabinet Report on Trotskyism (1944)Appendix III: Secret Service Report on Trotskyism (1944)Appendix IV: Open Letter to BSFI by Ted Grant (1950)Appendix VI: Programme of the International by Ted Grant (1970)Appendix VII: Obituary of Olwyn Hughes by Alan Woods (1998)Biographical notes
