This article, signed with a penname, appeared in the Bulletin of the Opposition, No.36-37, October 1933. It was translated for The Militant, October 21, 1933. Trotsky had received a visa to live in France, and this article was written on the Bulgaria, an Italian ship, en route from Turkey to Marseilles.
